Rianne Van Rompaey returns from a nearly 1.5 year hiatus, once again, collaborating with the one and only Mikael Jansson, making their brand of wonder, fashion, magic, (and some whimsy) for Harper’s Bazaar France October issue! The aspiring actress talks to Sarah Renard about being disconnected from social media, taking a break from fashion, her career as a model, and her upcoming role in Pierre-Ange Carlotti’s first film.
-In the spring, I shot a series, for Netflix, for four months. It’s called The Silence, it’ll be out next spring. It’s a thriller in the polar genre. I play a writer who disappears. Her husband goes in search of her, there is a detective who discovers a lot about her. Finally, I, on the screen, am absent almost all the time! I didn’t have much to play, it was pretty simple. But I was there, on set, every week, for four months. It was like a film school, I observed how a film crew works, I was able to play with Marwan Kenzari, an incredible actor, I learned a lot from him. I think I’m still at a stage where every project is more like a learning.
