After nearly two decades of being out of the public with a handful of appearances in fashion, the real Karen Mulder has officially launched an Instagram account. She made her first post February 3, 2026 to mourn the passing of not only a legendary designer and fashion maison, but also mentor in the late Valentino Garavani. Since early February, Karen has made a number of post celebrating her favorite designers, photographers, and fellow supers from her storied career.
I really am overjoyed to see Karen Mulder on Instagram. There was a time a doubted if she would ever bother with something like social media or not, but her reemergence is very much a welcome surprise. I think she’s easily one of the greatest models ever. Karen really has a style, presence, and beauty that’s unparalleled. She’s like a living Dutch Valkyrie that could make the genius fashion of Gianni Versace or Valentino come alive on the runway like no other. But more than anything, more than the supermodel visage, I will always admire the humanity and amiable spirit of Karen. Every thing about Karen Mulder is truly supersonic!

I would give a huge thanks to dedicated_to_karen_mulder on ig (Dunja) who is one of if not the biggest Karen Mulder fans and has ran a beautiful fan account for years. She really seems like an amazing person and she’s brought so many new eyes to the wonderful legacy of Karen Mulder.
