Christy Turlington Burns in all her brilliance alongside megastar Anok Yai grace the May 2024 issue of Harper’s Bazaar U.S. Leah Chenikoff catches up with Christy about the heyday of the supermodel, her relationship with fashion and modeling, her latest non-profit work for mothers and families, and the influence her very own mother had on her and navigating her new phase in life.
“I’m a shy person, actually,” Turlington Burns admits. “I like a quiet set. If I hear any dance music or techno music, I want to flee. I feel it in my bones, like, ugh,” she says, her face wrinkling at the thought.

The painter, model, and megastar talks with Kaitlyn Greenidge about becoming a star in the fashion world, her successes, her love of painting and the arts and ultimately what beauty and feeling beautiful means to her.
That kind of success could easily be overwhelming. Yai says her love of art, though, is “part of what has kept me whole. … I didn’t feel like I was really losing myself as I got into the fashion industry.”

The brainchild of Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea, Taller Marmo is the culmination of innovative techniques and luxury fabrics. Defined by its modern take on occasion wear, the Italian based artisans latest collection for spring 2024 is an ode to destinations in the Mediterranean. The Spring 2024 collection mixes 1970s and futuristic aesthetics with its various shapes, bell sleeves and opulent frontal drapes and curves crafted in viscose-blend crepe cady.

Acclaimed fashion designer and creative director David Koma debuts his latest creative venture with LET’S SWIM. Born out of Koma’s love of travel and inspired by the freedom and liberated inhibitions when at the beach or by the pool, Koma wanted to create more than a swimwear brand, as LET’S SWIM is not only a lifestyle but a movement for shark conservationists and charities to clean up beaches. Taking its inspiration from iconic swim images of the 80s, LET’S SWIM blends the exploration of the cinematic ocean environment with artificial intelligence. At the heart of LET’S SWIM ethos and design’s is its enigmatic shark which can be seen on many of the swimsuits and one pieces of the brand.
Koma’s one of a kind fashion touch and dazzling designs contouring the female form, shows brilliantly in the aesthetics of LET’S SWIM. The designs pack plenty of 80s charm with a Baywatch feel. The shapes and contours are sensual and dynamic. Some of my favorite pieces are the teardrop cut out shoulder top, red tie side bikini bottom, the shark swimsuits with white and red contour paneling, and the white cropped tank top with the shark emblem.
Since Vogue Netherlands in 2019 and a handful of fashion shows, Birgit Kos and Luna Bijl haven’t had the chance to work together in a while. They’re two of the greatest top models in the world and naturally with Cameron Hammond and David Koma, they made LET’S SWIM debut pretty epic and a swimwear collection to watch out for this summer.
