At the 11th Annual Canadian Art & Fashion Awards (CAFA) held inside the historic Fairmont Royal York Hotel downtown, a special night celebrated some of the biggest names and icons of the fashion industry. Hosted by star Brooke Lynn Hytes, the night saw honorees in womens and menswear designer of the year, emerging talent, brands, creators, impact, and sustainability.
Yet one of the most grand honors of the night came from friend and Erdem Moralıoğlu who awarded Linda Evangelista with Vanguard Award for her influence in fashion and activism. The Canadian native and icon Linda Evangelista with her family in attendance gave acceptance speech on the beauty and inspirations of an industry she trail-blazed for years, saying:
“For me, fashion has always been a place where dreams, aspirations, and inspirations flourish. The beauty of fashion is there is no right or wrong way of creating it: fashion allows each of us to choose not only how we see ourselves but how we present ourselves to the world.”
