In their Spring 2024 issue titled Archives, W China invites creative director Nicolas Ghesquière to summarize his 10 years at Louis Vuitton with a selection of iconic looks from more than 30 collections. Discreetly integrating the monogram into his fashion designs, Ghesquière has re-imagined it from cliche and vulgar to chic and sophisticated. Ghesquière design language is embodied in distant silhouettes that become more glamorous the closer they become. Nicolas Ghesquière is also keen on remembering every look, every technical detail and every model who wore the look at the show that year. One of such models is Rianne Van Rompaey who closed his debut show 10 years ago wearing looks from the second (Spring/Summer 2024), third (Spring/Summer 2017), fifth (Spring/Summer 2022), and sixth (Cruise 2016).
“A decade might seem both long and brief. At the Cour Carrée du Louvre in Paris where he made his debut show, Nicolas Ghesquière(@nicolasghesquiere ) just concluded his Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2024 Show on March 5th, 2024, exactly 10 years to the day his very model Rianne Van Rompaey(@riannevanrompaey ) closed the show. This year’s show honors a decade-long journey.”
