Happy Birthday Karen Mulder!

Happy Birthday to a very special person, personal idol, and my all time hero, Karen Mulder! It was years ago and I was looking up pictures of supermodels from the 90s or something, and I came across Karen Mulder for the first time. I thought she was the most beautiful woman ever, and I still do. I couldn’t believe I’ve never heard of her, and then I read her story and I felt really sad. Apart from the outer appearance, the person I saw in video clips and interviews on YouTube was so intelligent, well spoken, witty, down-to-earth, kind, and a gentle soul. Karen’s just so extraordinary to me, and I’m always reminded by her spirit that you should never lose heart or stop believing in people.

I don’t know why, but whenever I do tribute or something to Karen, I always think about Oasis. Supersonic is probably my favorite music documentary. I always had a ton of respect for Oasis, but the film made me appreciate Noel and Liam that much more. It’s just crazy to think that two brothers that went through hell and were seemingly always at each other’s throats could end up making such beautiful music. I guess the imperfect musical genius in that reminds of Karen Mulder.

Karen Mulder will always be an all time great to me with plenty of heart. Thanks for being a light in the world. You’re the epitome of being Supersonic. Happy Birthday Karen Mulder!

They’re trying hard to put me in my place
And that is why I gotta keep running
The future’s mine and it’s no disgrace
‘Cause in the end the past means nothing

You tell me I’m free then you tie me down
And from my chains I think it’s a pity
What did it cost you to wear my crown
You don’t like me why don’t you admit it

I feel a little down today
And I ain’t got much to say
But you’re gonna miss me when I’m not there
And you know I don’t care
You know I don’t care

I said maybe
You’re gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You’re my wonderwall
I said maybe (I said maybe)
You’re gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You’re my wonderwall
